FAQ

  • How do I contact you?

To submit a tattoo request you can find the booking page here.

For all other inquiries, please reach out to info@greentattooing.com

  • Are your books open?

I indicate my currently available dates on my Instagram profile and in my booking form, as well.

  • Do you show designs before the appointment?

No. A rendered version of the design will be shown on the day of the appointment. If necessary, we can make adjustments to the design day-of.

If this is the case and redrawing the design should take longer than our ability to comfortably tattoo on the day of you appointment, we will reschedule for another day. At this point we will require a new deposit to rechedule the appointment.

Should you not like the design, it will not offend me in any way. I am here to make something inspirational to us both and will not take offense if you choose not to get the design tattooed.

  • What should I expect during a consultation?

Your consultation is a time where we can discuss your ideas for your new tattoo. Together we can discuss style, placement, size, and execution of your design. It is encouraged that you provide any reference photos for your ideas in an email format, so they may be added to your design file. In order to book an appointment after your consultation, a deposit will be required

  • How do deposits work?

A deposit is used to reserve your tattoo appointment. Deposits are an important part of the design process and enable me to dedicate time towards your drawing. This deposit is non-refundable and will be deducted from the full-price of your last tattoo session.

As part of deposit policy, you may forfeit your deposit if: you reschedule your appointment more than twice, are in excess of half an hour late to your given appointment, or fail to reschedule 48 hours prior to your appointment.

  • Do you do Cover-Ups/Blastovers?

Gladly! I feel as though the power of tattooing comes from it’s transformative properties and reworking/working over older tattoos is a big part of how we grow and change.

I do require that clients understand the limitations and difficulties associated with this added complication, though, and will explain the inherent limitations during our consultation.

  • What do you charge?

    I am currently charging $250/hr.

I do offer day-rate sessions for a flat rate of $1400/day that allows for greater flexibility in scheduling and budgeting on larger projects, and allows for greater understanding of the cost of larger-scale, multi-day projects.

A minimum $300 deposit is required for all hourly bookings and a $600 deposit is required on all day-rate bookings. These deposits will be applied at the completion of the project and will be deducted from the final price.

  • Why do you collect a non-refundable deposit?

I commit a great deal of time and care into creating each design. The deposit ensures that I am paid for that time if you decide not to undergo the tattoo. It also ensures that I do not have a loss of income in cases of last minute rescheduling or if a client does not show up to an appointment.

  • Can I commission you for artwork without an appointment?

I am available for various illustrative endeavors, paintings, and tattoo designs. Commissions of these types are done on a per-piece basis and will require both a deposit and fee determined at the beginning of the project.

  • Will you repeat a tattoo?

While I do not repeat tattoos, I will gladly assist in creating original designs similar to those I have already tattooed!

  • How long will my tattoo take?

After consulting on your tattoo concept, I will have a much clearer concept of how long your tattoo will take. I endeavor to quote as accurate a timeframe as possible and will let you know a likely window of time it should take to complete your project once I have enough information to do so.

  • What payment methods to you accept?

I currently accept either cash or credit/debit for payment.

  • Is it customary to tip?

Tipping is considered customary and is often handled similarly to hair services.

Whether to tip per-session or on the overall cost at the end, as well as the amount to tip (5-20% being average) are all personal preference.

With that said, tips are always appreciated, but are not considered necessary.

  • Can I cancel/reschedule my appointment?

You are free to reschedule up to twice on a deposit. Any reschedules done prior to 48 hours before your appointment will maintain the deposit and it will be applied to the new agreed-upon date.

Please know I may lack immediate availability for rescheduling and will attempt to find an appointment date as close to your newly desired date as possible.

In order to assure that all bookings are serious, I do not return deposits paid on appointments due to cancellation.

  • How should I prepare for my appointment?

Pre-care instructions can be found here.

  • What should I expect during my tattoo appointment?

Appointments may include designing, stenciling and freehand drawing on your skin. Your skin will also be prepped for tattooing and later bandaged.

Applying a tattoo is a collaboration. I work with clients and implement practices to make sure they are as comfortable as possible and can sit for long periods.

I will frequently check in with you, we will take breaks, and you are encouraged to eat even if your appetite is low or ask for a break when you want one.

Distractions such as a phone, tablet, or book can be helpful when dealing with pain. More often than not, I am comfortable chatting with clients while I work and I will let you know if I need a quiet moment to better focus.

  • How should I care for my tattoo after my appointment?

My aftercare instructions vary by tattoo in order to ensure the best possible healing experience. You can ready more about the various healing techniques I use here.

  • Do you offer touch-ups?

I offer a free touch-up within one year of getting a tattoo. Touch-ups that are requested after that deadline will be charged my tattoo rate.

Touch-ups are done at my discretion and are considered only if I am emailed a photo and brief explanation of the portion that you would like touched up.

  • Where are you located?

While I do travel for guest spots, I am currently a resident artist at Darkwater Ink in Berkeley, California.
